Description
Stunning Archive-Grade Copy | -4/-4 Definitive Mix | Crisp Readable Spine!
Up for auction is a beautifully preserved, completely original UK mono pressing of The Beatles' masterpiece Rubber Soul, manufactured by EMI / Parlophone at the turn of the year in late 1965 / early 1966.
This specific copy features the highly desirable Variation B Garrod & Lofthouse serif-font labels, paired with the definitive, corrected -4/-4 audio matrix (with high holiday-demand stampers) and an exceptionally crisp, uncracked flipback spine. Finding a 60-year-old unlaminated white back cover completely free of handwriting, ink, or major ring wear is incredibly rare.
This is a true archive-grade collector's piece. PLAY TESTED SOUNDS AMAZING AND IS INCREDIBLY QUIET.

CONDITION SELLER NOTES (EXCELLENT / EXCELLENT)
THE VINYL:
(NM)Visual: Highly glossy, clean vinyl holding its original deep black luster. Displays only minor, faint hairline paper scuffs from inner sleeve removal when held under direct light. No deep scratches or marks.
Labels: Stunningly clean black and yellow Parlophone labels. No writing, no sticker residue, and minimal spindle trail marks around the center hole. The "KT" tax code is clearly embossed in the center vinyl.
THE JACKET (GARROD & LOFTHOUSE FLIPBACK): EXCELLENT
Front Cover: Beautiful, high-gloss laminate finish with brilliant, vibrant colors. Virtually no lifting and free of the heavy "spiderweb" laminate creasing common for this era.
Back Cover: Incredibly clean, bright white unlaminated cardboard. Strictly NO writing, NO pen marks, and NO names. Shows only a tiny hint of natural, age-appropriate toning near the edges.
The Spine: Phenomenal condition. The notoriously fragile, pinched Garrod & Lofthouse spine is completely crisp, square, and fully readable ("Rubber Soul—The Beatles") with zero splitting or crushing.
