Background...
Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band is the eighth studio album by the English rock band the Beatles. Released on 26 May 1967,[nb 1] Sgt. Pepper is regarded by musicologists as an early concept album that advanced the roles of sound composition, extended form, psychedelic imagery, record sleeves, and the producer in popular music. The album had an immediate cross-generational impact and was associated with numerous touchstones of the era's youth culture, such as fashion, drugs, mysticism, and a sense of optimism and empowerment. Critics lauded the album for its innovations in songwriting, production and graphic design, for bridging a cultural divide between popular music and high art, and for reflecting the interests of contemporary youth and the counterculture.
The vinyl has a super glossy sheen and sits completely flat with no warping. Lovely clean labels and spindle holes!!! It has a few light surface marks/wisps/hairs and one small hair line. Spindle trails can be seen at an angle.
The red Fool's Swirl Inner is EXCELLENT with no splits or tears.
The green Peter Blake cutouts are also EXCELLENT / NR MINT as seem to have been kept inside the gatefold.
The outer GATEFOLD cover is also very good, it shows the much sought after EXTRA WIDE SPINE (8mm instead of the usual 6mm) and has retained a lovely sheen still. Only minor discolouration/wear to the corners/edges as to be expected for an item of this age. Crinkles to the outer protective film.
OVERALL A FANTASTIC, ORIGINAL AND COMPLETE SET TO ADD TO YOUR COLLECTION!!!
