Background...
Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band is the eighth studio album by the English rock band the Beatles. Released on 26 May 1967,[nb 1] Sgt. Pepper is regarded by musicologists as an early concept album that advanced the roles of sound composition, extended form, psychedelic imagery, record sleeves, and the producer in popular music. The album had an immediate cross-generational impact and was associated with numerous touchstones of the era's youth culture, such as fashion, drugs, mysticism, and a sense of optimism and empowerment. Critics lauded the album for its innovations in songwriting, production and graphic design, for bridging a cultural divide between popular music and high art, and for reflecting the interests of contemporary youth and the counterculture.
The vinyl is FANTASTIC!! It has a superior glossy sheen in appearance and sits completely flat with no warping. The labels are stunning with gorgeous spindle holes!!! There are literally a couple of light / insignificant surface marks that arent even worth mentioning! Excellent /nr mint!
The outer GATEFOLD cover is also beautifull - it has a lovely glossy sheen, with only minor discolouration/marks to the corners/edging as to be expected for an item of this age and has a small crinkle to the bottom right corner. AND of course displays the Saught after "WIDE SPINE". However in this particular example, it is what I would class as an EXTREMELY RARE EXTRA WIDE SPINE!! Please have a look at the last picture and you will see a photograph of x3 spines all for this album... the top pic a normal spine, in the middle of the picture is what's classed as a wide spine, and then at the bottom of the picture is this one - you can notably see it is much wider than normal!!
The green 'Peter Blake' cutouts are excellent as have been kept within the gatefold.
And completing this set, is the often missing 'Fool's swirl' inner. It is in good condition with only the expected age related discolouration and a small split to the bottom.
OVERALL A STUNNING AND VERY RARE MUST HAVE PIECE TO ADD TO YOUR MUSICAL COLLECTION!!!
Will package securely and post via tracked /signed for delivery - if you live outside the UK please contact me before paying for an exact shipping price as I would've want to over or under charge.
