THE BEATLES –
'SGT. PEPPER’S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND'
This 1967 MONO UK 1st pressing dates from the day of release and is on the black and yellow Parlophone label: PMC 7027. The “Sold in U.K.” text is present and the “KT” embossed tax code is embossed on the side 1.
Matrix numbers: XEX 637-1 & XEX 638-1
Stamper Codes: 1 ATP & 8 APO
Un-banded tracks and includes the side 2 repeating run-out groove, unlike the American release.
Housed within its fully laminated, inner flip-back ‘Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd.’ printed gatefold cover.
Complete with its original and correct “The Fool”-designed red/pink/white custom inner and Sgt. Pepper cut-out sheet.
CONDITION:
Disc Labels: VERY GOOD +
A clean, respectable pair which carry moderate spindle markings and light wear towards the centers.
Playing Surfaces, Visual: VERY GOOD +
Both playing surfaces are clean and retain all of their deep-gloss shine. Closer inspection directly beneath a powerful halogen desk lamp reveals a moderate amount of wispy paper hairlines but no 'feelable' scratches. Both sides of this well looked-after disc lie 100% flat on the turntable when playing.
Sound Quality: EXCELLENT +
This incredible sounding copy has been played on excellent equipment as the sound is clean, warm and clear throughout with an unbeatable rich and deep bass response. My careful play-check found no trace of any groove/playwear distortion on any track or any background interference, clicks, pops or indeed any other audible distraction on or between any track. You will not be disappointed with the sound quality of this rare copy.
Cover: EXCELLENT
A clean & firm example of this striking cover with bright, rich colors and no sign of fading. There is sign of slight bending to the rear panel along the upper-right outline of where the disc rests in the sleeve but is now flat and solid. No damage to any of the corners. The inside of the gatefold is clean and unmarked. The spine is clean and all of the text is present and readable.
Inner: VERY GOOD +
Clean & flat with some light age-toning and a 2 ½” seam split at the bottom. No writing or tears.
Cut-Outs: EXCELLENT
Clean & flat with slight signs of handling but no writing or tears.

Grading performed under strong daylight and a halogen desk lamp to UK ‘Record Collector’ standards. Play graded at volume, in its entirety on a properly set-up Rega deck with Shure cartridge. Care is taken to pack items for shipping. Discs are always removed and placed in replacement sleeves to prevent splitting to the originals.
