An original 1st mono press of Pepper on UK Parlophone. Matrix 1/1. I tend to opt for the earliest copies - they were often pressed heavy [like this example]. Now, this really is the best starting place to bag a truly great playing copy. They don't all look as good as this one or sound as good. The vinyl comes housed in an original mono gatefold cover with exposed flipbacks. The original dark green cut-outs are present and the FOOL psyche inner is PRESENT.  So, we're 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) A lovely copy which has seen only light use for an original Pepper. Under close inspection there are a couple of very light marks per side - but seemingly nothing that will get anywhere near that precious audio. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are really quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. Playing this LP is like a trip back to '67. The audio reproduction is breath taking. EMI at the height of their powers - along with the Beatles. It just plays with super vibrancy and a really quiet background. The early copies have very appealing lolloping base-notes - superb! To find out if you really have a super player go to those very demanding tracks. Many really nice looking copies easily trip up on SLH and WI64. SLH in particular is extremely difficult to find playing nice and clean on any copy. But this example is defying the odds - superb. In terms of out and out audio - I would say this copy is within the top ten I've witnessed [very very respectable]. It plays consistently clean throughout... Now, that in itself is unusual. There's more low-level detail on this copy than 90% of 1st pressings. ALL the tracks which are a total pain to find playing clean.... Think...SLH, WI64, WYWY, ADITL etc... Pretty much 'clean as a whistle'. I picked out just a couple of minor crackles in a couple of tracks per side [e.g. Fixing  A Hole ]. Really difficult to meet this standard - on any copy, let alone on an early 1st. ZERO distortion anywhere. Getting close to perfect. You will not be disappointed.
Cover (Ex) In very nice condition and is looking very smart indeed. Front and back are nice and clean and flat without creasing or light fade. The interior is clean as you like - beautiful. Minimal edge wear and sharp openings. There's a 1c.m. wear-through patch on the bottom of the rear panel. Tucked away there it is almost invisible to the casual observer. The spine is much better than you tend to find. All text fully legible and just a couple of tiny patches of discolouration. Overall the cover still retains excellent rigidity. A very fine original example.
Inner (Ex) Hardly any ageing. No splits. To be honest - that's quite unusual.
Cut-Outs (Ex) Faultless.
