Very Rare 4th. Proof Beatles Sgt. Pepper`s Lonely Hearts Club Band Cover. These covers are very scarce and don`t come up on auction very often, so here`s your chance to own a piece of Beatles music history. 06.01.1967. This very very rare unique sleeve! The “Fourth Proof” sleeve represents the earliest possible pressing of the Sgt Pepper cover. The Fourth Proof was the final version of the various ‘prototypes’ that were explored by the Beatles when the cover was being designed. The cover and text was approved by the Beatles and an initial very small ‘test’ run was undertaken to make sure everything looked OK. This small test run is characterised by the inverted “Fourth Proof” text in the top right hand corner of the inner gatefold – just above George Harrison’s head. This is therefore the earliest possible ‘prototype’ (test pressing) cover. Same fold-back can have printed text “AR D1321? which was probably the reference number for the prototype text that was used. This cover is in Very Good + condition for a cover that was printed some 44 years ago.The cover has very light bumping to the corners. No rips or tears and no writing or stickers, has very light ring wear to the front and some very light laminate creasing. The inside is in excellent condition, colors are still very vibrant. The back of the cover is also very nice with just light corner bumping. The spine is very good condition with just some light wear. The writing is still readable but part on the word (Lonely) has worn off and part of the H in (Hearts) worn off you can see in picture.

Vinyl is in Excellent Condition: The album still has a very high black gloss to it. Side 1- Matrix Numbers XEX-637-1 Side 2 - Matrix Numbers XEX-638-1 making this a first press album. Has KT Tax Code on side 2. Side 1 of the album has just some light swirl marks from the inner sleeve. I could not not see any scratches on side 1. Side 2 also has some very light swirl marks from the inner sleeve, it does have a couple of very light and very small scratches that do not affect play of the album which plays Excellent and very enjoyable.

Labels are Excellent: Free from any writing and stickers and very light spindle wear. Looks as though it wasn`t played much.

Comes with original Sgt. Pepper Insert in Near Mint Condition, states in lower left corner (Printed in England) Also comes with the original Red, Pink, and White inner sleeve, has just the slightest of yellowing from age. There are no rips in the side seams and just a very small rip in the bottom seam. Still in Excellent Condition.
