The Beatles - Sgt.Peppers Mono One EMI box PMC 7027 - Quite rare
The Beatles - Sgt Peppers' Lonely Hearts Club Band last available mono before it was made in Stereo only, which then became and has remained the standard. The most collectable thing about the mono edition of Sgt. Peppers is that it has a different mix to the Stereo version, and it was the mono mix down only which was overseen by the Beatles themselves (as the definitive mix ideally).
Along with the last editions of Please Please Me & Help!, this had the one EMI box label which was a very short lived label in 1969. This particular copy is my only and best copy. It has a couple of light needle skates were someone has been careless, but otherwise nearing mint really as can be seen in the photos, not many spindle marks or center wear.
Plays mint with a lovely warm mono sound. Perfect.
This sometimes comes with a standard sleeve (as did this when I got it), but this is the correct one for it. On the back at the top, it has the extra Stereo / Mono stamp and is clearly for a mono record as it says so at the bottom.
These sleeves are very rare and there is lots on the internet about them. They also have a small square cut in the corner (as does this), which I would have thought meant promo or simular, but there you have it.
