MFSL-1-102- "With The Beatles" (1982) Limited run because of damaged stamper that was not replaced, making this a rare Mobile Fidelity release. This is an opened album, technically unplayed, in like new condition with the only defect being a one inch seam-split starting on the bottom from shipping to the record store I presume. I lowered the asking price of this rare classic because of it. I bought this album new in 1983 and opened it to look at the brand new pristine record, then put it on a classic AR turntable I used at the time with a brand new Shure M97HE Era IV cartridge and gently tried two 5-10 second samples of a pair of songs on side one just to hear the MOFI magic. The majority of the record has never had a needle in the grooves! Then I carefully closed it up and put it away in my collection of unopened albums, where it remained all these years in the temperature controlled non-smoking homes my wife and I have had. I never noticed the tiny seam split on the bottom because it was put away the day I bought it, and never played. I learned from a major dealer that the Mobile Fidelity Albums in the loose baggies, though sealed, tend to shift in the shipping boxes if not packed tight then handled roughly by the shipper. So seam splits can happen on these when they bang around in the shipping container. Also rough handling in the record stores could have been the cause, who knows? It's there, on the bottom of the sleeve. Other than that, the album is as new, or as close to it as you can get! Please check out the pics, this is the item you will receive. (This might be a good idea for this beauty!) I cover the insurance through the Post Office on anything I sell over $50, so insurance on this is free too.
