An original 1st stereo press of YS on the UK Apple label. Matrix 1/1. Please note labels are totally consistent with very 1st press and exhibit the 'Sold In The UK..' statement. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in a very 1st issue "red-line" stereo cover with flipbacks. And, again, note how the bottom flipback does not show the printers credit..these are the very 1st covers ever to have been printed [most likely in late-68]. Also included is the black die-cut inner sleeve..not a reproduction! So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) Wowzers - without a shadow of a doubt the best original YS I've ever witnessed. It must have had one incredibly careful owner and has only seen the lightest use. Under close inspection I could only make out a couple of light per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback without reservation. So, lets put this into perspective for a second..Ex+ on any Beatles 60's record is a very nice and impressive find. But a stone-cold-solid Ex+ on Yellow Submarine is approaching miracle territory. Why? Because this is, without a doubt, the fussiest Beatles record that ever existed. It's mostly orchestral in nature and has George Martin's influence stamped all over it. Orchestral music, and particularly the low-key tinkering percussion sort, is by far the most difficult to re-produce with a quiet background. I'm pleased to report that on this copy you will be treated to a silent background from start to finish. No matter how low-key the audio goes - this copy will deliver it in total silence. And that folks makes it an incredibly unusual copy -- and one I certainly have never witnessed before. I will do my usual catch-all you may detect a couple of slight crackles in a couple of isolated moments per side. But to all intents and purposes..FINAL UPGRADE.
Cover (Ex/Ex+) Wow, as if the vinyl weren't good enough on its own..check this cover out! Have you ever seen YS looking like that..? Not sure I have. Not quite perfect, but certainly getting close. Lovely clean, flat, and unaged front cover. I have seen some that look 'white-ish', but not a properly white one like this. All I can make out are a couple of tiny stress creases at the spine edge and two tiny thumbnail creases. The rear is superb - because the ageing process just has not got a look in at all! All I can make out is a minuscule bit of sticker residue in the extreme top right corner. And a couple of tiny blemishes. It really is as good as any copy I've ever seen. All flipbacks are perfectly intact and secure. Edge wear is pretty much non-existent and the openings still sharpish. The text on the spine is all legible with just a couple of tiny stress creases. Overall the cover retains perfect rigidity. Have a good look around, but I don't think you'll be equally this one any time soon.
Inner (Ex) Very impressive indeed. No side splits!! Couple of tiny pencil markings one side [could be removed with an eraser carefully].
