This listing is for an increasingly rare US first pressing of the The Clash's self titled debut album complete with the original demo 7 inch single, only available on early copies.  Please note the inner picture sleeve is not present and LP is stored in generic paper sleeve.  What is present is a great original price sticker from Sid's Records and Tapes $6.49 - I don't think Mr Vicious had his own record shop but you never know haha.
Originally released in 1977 in the UK, the US did not get their own pressing until 1979 so this is a genuine US first pressing albeit 2 years after the very first release.
Both records are in lovely clean condition and sound great so a wonderful collectors piece and sure to increase in value.  These US pressings are quite rare and especially difficult to get over in the UK so save yourself freight and potential headaches, the only copy on Ebay that I can see.
The matrix combination looks to be unusual as not catalogued together so maybe a transitional press.  There seems to be a step up in audio quality on Side 2 so probably a very early stamping of this side.
All of my records are play tested on a Project Debut Carbon with 2M Red stylus which is quite revealing so any sound defects may be more exaggerated than on other more mainstream players.  Or conversely if you are a full on audiophile I will let you judge how your set up compares and how you envisage the sound will compare.
I don't currently have access to a cleaning machine so please forgive any dust or finger marks which are on any of my records - hopefully will be investing in one at some point.
Record Appearance - VG+ A very strong VG+ there are no deep scratches or marks just a few whisper lines and one very light scratch on Side 1.  Some of the glossy finish has faded but only slightly, perhaps would benefit from a machine clean as having been stored for a while.  The single is NM lovely glossy finish and barely any visible lines or marks under a bright light, stunning.  LP Label Side 1 is absolutely perfect not even any spindle marks under a bright light.  Side 2 there is a small black marker pen mark by the spindle hole but fine otherwise.  The 7 inch label is in great condition with no marks.
Record Audio - NM Barely any surface noise for the most part just on the run in and in between tracks not audible during the tracks.  Unfortunately I haven't been able to test the 7 inch as my turntable has just thrown a wobbly, but it looks like new so I can't imagine there will be a problem.  Sound quality on the LP is wonderful and rich, my favourite track is Police and Thieves sounds amazing.  As mentioned earlier Side 2 is a step up in audio quality suggesting this was the beginning of a fresh stamper, cat nip for a lot of collectors :)
Record Sleeve - VG/VG+ Somewhere in between VG and VG+ but considering it's 40 years old the sleeve has lasted well.  There is some shelf wear on the corners and a few examples of the green being worn away along the edges and spine but the titles are still legible.  Being low quality soft card there are some creases to the edges but only light ring wear under a bright light.  The face of the front cover is in great condition no marks or defects, great colours and as mentioned an amazing original price sticker from Sid's Records and Tapes.  I can't find much on Google possibly a Florida record store.  I would prefer to imagine Sid Vicious selling it from the back of his van haha.  The rear cover is also in good condition with no marks, just a small across the Epic logo on the bottom right which is an indentation rather than a pen mark.  The LP is stored in a plain white inner sleeve which is in good condition.  The 7 inch demo is in a generic white sleeve which I imagine is original and is also in good condition.
All questions answered and offers considered.  Thanks for looking and please follow me and check out my other listings as they appear.  I am employed full time and have 3 children so please forgive any delay in communication but should be within 24 hours.
