A very 1st press of LA Woman from 1971 on UK Elektra. One of the all time great albums landing on vinyl! This is 1971 1st press - the audio is "total kick ass". Note the labels are correct for 1971. Matrix A1/B1. NO mention of 'Made in UK'. For the 1st pressings it should be solid vinyl and the labels should exhibit a bit of claret/red blush in a couple of spots [as we find here]. The vinyl comes housed in an original windowed round cornered cover. The idea is that the yellow arty inner slips into the windowed cover illuminating the band. Later issues have various re-hashings...this is THE 1ST variation. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex) Wowzer this is one super looking original copy. It has seen light careful use - we're in for a treat here! Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of light marks per side - nothing troublesome at all. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with a couple of slight deviations. Never a chore - a total blast! Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. Get a clean copy and hear just how darn good the band were. Stellar. Clean as you like all the way through. Yes, you might detect a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated spots per side. But that is the exception to the norm. This baby plays lean....she plays clean. The only deviations are a couple of very minor ticks midway through 'Cars Hiss' and 'King Snake'. And a solitary tick on the way into LA Woman. Nothing problematic at all. This copy plays clean into all the lowkey slow builds. A thing of wonder. Luv it!
Cover (Ex-) So, how come the cover looks this good if it's original '71? Cos I just slipped it outta the original shrink that's why - ha! [like you do....] As a result this example does not have the usual surface wear you typically come up against on this title. Look at the perspex window - pretty close on perfect. Ditto the rear - you will struggle finding another early original looking anywhere near this smart. Just one slight patch of edge wear - the rest is perfect. The spine is 100% intact - how many are gonna be that well preserved after this passage of time>? Openings are sharp and firm - not feathered. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. A bit of a one-off I'd say...
Inner (Vg+) Jut a touch of ageing at extremities. A couple of foxing marks on the rear. A one inch bottom edge split.
