The Doors debut album was released in the U.S (EKS-74007) in the Winter of 1967 and made waves.....slowly at first....but then became a huge hit during the 'Summer of Love'.  The release of the 2nd single from the album, 'Light My Fire', was one of the major reasons why.....a stunning combination of Blues, Jazz, Classical, Rock, and of course the  mysterious, passionate, powerful baritone voice of Jim Morrison.  Many consider this debut record by The Doors as one of the most original and influential in Rock.  The copy I am offering is a 1st U.S. pressing from 1967 on the gold Elektra labels. The record itself is heavier than usual and the audio is the best I've heard for this particular pressing. The keyboards in particular really come through loud and clear without distorting.  If you've been looking for a 1st U.S. Stereo pressing in exceptional condition....look no further.

Condition of Lp Jacket: Near Mint(minus) .....this jacket is in amazing condition for its age....colors are still vivid and striking...some very minor wear to the jacket opening ...2 almost unnoticeable, tiny pinholes at the top left; and back top right, prevent me from giving this cover a NM+ grade. As you can see from the photos, this was originally meant to house a Mono record. As was sometimes done by Elektra Records, when occasionally they ran out of stereo sleeves, a  Mono printed one was used and a "Stereo" sticker was affixed to alert the buyer. Interesting to note that these early covers had an almost shoe leather-like feel to them when you ran your finger tips over the card stock. A beautiful example  of this famous jacket.

Condition of Original Inner-Sleeve: Excellent....minor edge wear, a seam split at the bottom but still in great shape. A new and better quality sleeve will be given to house the precious record.

Condition of Record: Near Mint ......hardly a blemish to be seen....just some normal sleeve scuffs and barely visible hairlines are noticeable under strong light. So infrequently has this record been played that one can still see vinyl shards around the Side 2 label hole (see photo) I've listened to this record from start to finish and the audio is fantastic..... just about the cleanest 1st U.S pressing I've ever seen and heard....a few inoffensive ticks are heard during playback to both sides but not enough to lower the grade from NM.  Don't let this one go because you won't find one this clean for a long time....if ever.
