Description
This Lp is quite good. This is the 1968 line up of the 50s Doo-Wop group the G-Clefs. Surprisingly this is not Doo-Wop except for their two hits, even they are not too Doo-Wop but Soul. This is a rocking record with hard driving organ and drums. Full band of organ guitar drums and bass. It’s wonderfully recorded live and it’s a very primitive recording! It definitely has some funk to it, it’s almost like a Garage Rock Soul Lp because they play every song fast and hard. It’s surprisingly an off the radar Lp and it should be one of those $100+ private press LPs. They sound like they sure as hell wanted their audience dancing. They even turned their Doo Wop hits into Soul dancers. For has been Doo Wop guys playing soul covers in a small night club past their prime this album kicks ass! I’m not putting any dealer hype on this, I dig it and can’t keep every record I like unfortunately.
It’s autographed by all the group members on the cover! VG+ Lp plays great! Cover graded liberally at VG due to wear.
