Norman Granz chose six 12" 78RPM records to hold 12 sides which were the best of the best:

CHARLIE PARKER, WILLIE SMITH, MACHITO, BUD POWELL, DUKE ELLINGTON, NEIL HEFTI, LESTER YOUNG, COLEMAN HAWKINS, RALPH BURNS, and GEORGE HANDY.

The Photographs are high quality shots on high quality paper: DUKE ELLINGTON, COLEMAN HAWKINS, RALPH BURNS, CHARLIE PARKER, WILLIE SMITH, MACHITO, MAX ROACH, BUD POWELL, LESTER YOUNG, BILLIE HOLIDAY, and many more.

The 78RPM Records all look almost brand new, except there is a scratch on 2 of the albums, but they don't skip it crackles for a minute! The photographs and spacer sheets with the Record Artists listed on them are in fantastic condition, no tears, creases, scratches etc..

The Interior is EXCELLENT. This sat on our shelf, unused for at least 50 years. The outside cover has some shelfwear and a water stain, the back cover is very good, no tears snags or holes only shelfwear. 

My father was a very close friend of the radio personalities of the times, here in Chicago. One of the closest being Stan Dale, Stan Dale "Stan the All Night Man"of radio station WSRS. Mr. Dale was given this set directly from Norman Granz, for his opinion of it.
