(Note:  If you win multiple items in a week’s listings, please wait for the end of all of the auctions for me to invoice you, so that you can take advantage of my combined shipping offer.  Thanks!)

For sale this week and likely next are some harder-to-find PROMO PSYCH and Classic Rock 45’s.

Most of these will feature their MONO mix counterparts that were never to this day issued to the public!  And most if not all have still never been available in any other format in MONO.  These are always a good investment, and a fun niche in collecting.

Be sure to look at the others for sale!

I can’t test-play vinyl at the minute, so with that said…

The Monkees 1968 Porpoise Song Long Non-LP Version/As We Go Along MONO Promo, EX!

The single from the “Head” soundtrack, this is the mono mix of two of the songs from that album.  By 1968, MONO had been completely phased out, and there were no MONO copies of the “Head” album issued.

Not only are these versions not fold-down mixes, but “Porpoise Song” has the additional minute of music at the end.  The album cuts off cold with the four drum beats.  But the 45 uses those beats as a false ending, followed by this long fadeout!

Vinyl: EX/EX.  Vinyl looks 90% brand new with the exceptions of just some extremely light and short angel hairs that you have to work to find.  Side 1 has a dot of something in the grooves, which might clean off, but I’m not going to try.  See photos.

Labels: VG+/VG+.  Side 1 has minimal dirtwear, and some writing by the DJ.  Side 2 label has the date received stamp, “Oct. 1, 1968.”

**Catalogue number prefix, “WZKM” is what designates this as the MONO mix, which is what the “M” stands for.  Colgems used the prefix, “WZKS” for their stereo issues.

Sleeve:  VG.  Both sides have small splits.  Sleeve is slightly faded.  DJ’s aren’t known for taking care of sleeves.

A generic white sleeve will be provided to protect your company sleeve during shipping.

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

Note:  All 45’s ship outside of their sleeves in order not to damage the sleeve during shipment. Generic plain, white sleeves and Mylar provided.

Please don’t bid unless you’re willing to honor your amount, okay? Thanks!

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)

Check out my other auctions for more hard-to-find vinyl!
