Description
This very nice pressing, a collection of many of the greatest hits of The Monkees, was released by Bell Records, the successor to Colgems, the Monkee's original record company, in 1972. The Monkees were still a very popular group in 1972, even though they were no longer formally together, Their television show remained, as it still does, a heavily syndicated and watched show.
The tunes here are all classic Monkees, as originally released from their many Colgems albums.. Most of the songs were written by Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart,one of the all time great composing duos, including "Last Train to Clarksville." Two songs, "A Little Bit of Me, a Little Bit of You" and "I'm a Believer" were written by by the legendary Neil Diamond, and one, "Shades of Gray", by Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil. A very nice collection. This one is in perfect condition.
