Description

A stereo 1st issue of Beggars Banquet on the UK Decca label. Matrix 2/3. Stampers 1-CH/1-HC. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original Stereo gatefold cover printed by Garrod & Lofthouse. Please note this copy also exhibits the very first 'patents pending' reference understood to be only found on copies from the time of 1st release.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In absolutely super condition and has clearly seen only the lightest of use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of ultra-light marks - and nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. Interference is minimal - all we could detect was a touch of ultra-light static in a couple of isolated moments [literally]. The audio produced from these early copies is unrivalled. You are just never going to get this clarity and precision than from a copy like this, which is close to that original master. The sound is truly majestic and I can't recommend it highly enough...
Cover (Ex-) In great shape and has most certainly been looked after by its original owner. Whilst not perfectly white it's not too far off it and way better shape than most '68 copies that turn up now. A  couple of minor marks on the rear - is really all that's vaguely note worthy. the interior is absolutely perfectly preserved. Edge wear is light and most of the text on the spine is still readable. Very difficult finding an example any better preserved than this. A real beauty...
