Description
Exile On Main Street 1st Press on the Rolling Stone Records label from 1972. Matrix A2/B2/C1/D2. Dead Wax 'Rolling Stone Records' & Turntable symbol. The records come housed in their original square cornered purple/green inner sleeves that fit into the Shorewood Packaging gatefold box cover.
Cover (VG+) The cover has been well looked after.There's some light creases and edge wear apparent, but overall it remains in really good condition. There are no splits or tears and the gatefold maintains a good level of rigidity. A fine example of a classic cover.
Inners (Ex) Excellent apart from catalogue numbers written neatly in the top right of both inners.
Vinyl (VG+/Ex) Has been well cared for and retains much of the original luster. Under close inspection I can see nothing more than a couple of very light marks. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a near EXCELLENT level of playback. There are, however, a couple of areas where it falls below this standard. The first half of 'All Down The Line' has audible crackles - more than you'd like. And there are a few light static crackles in the intro to Sweet Virginia and Rocks. Providing you can live with this the rest of the record [4 sides] plays back to a very decent level in deed. These 1st issues are sought after for their inherent sound quality and this example is no exception. The level of fidelity is really excellent with little interference for the most part. A true Stones classic that represents a fantastic listening experience.
