Description

An original 1st pressing from the autumn of 1970 on the UK Decca label. Matrix -3W/-1W. Heavy set vinyl - not the later flimsy stuff. The record comes housed in a fully laminated [front and back] original cover printed by Robert Stace. Only the very 1st issue copies have a fully laminated sleeve. 
Vinyl (Ex) Has clearly been carefully looked after and has only seen light use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of light marks on either side, but nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT level of playback with one slight deviation. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity and minimal interference [Just some light static in Love In Vain - as is so often the case with this LP]. The actual audio quality is top notch and manages to resolve every last nuance of the performance. From the shouts in the crowd to the high pitch wailing of the P.A. system - perfect reproduction! I have no doubt that these early copies are the definitive rendition.
Cover (Ex) Again, it has clearly been looked after carefully down the years and the lamination on the rear has helped to keep it in such good order. There's very little ageing to the rear, but please note there's a tiny amount of tape residue along the bottom edge. Laminate lift is minimal and the spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover has maintained excellent rigidity and retains a really nice fell to it.
