Description

A 1st pressing from August 1970 on the UK Decca label just before general release in September. Matrix -1W/-1W. Stampers 1-CU/1-CU. Heavy set vinyl - not the later flimsy stuff. The record comes housed in a fully laminated, purple bordered, original cover printed by the Upton Printing Group. Original August 1970 '8-70' blue and white Decca inner sleeve. Only the very first of the first pressings exhibit all of the above characteristics. What's even better is this copy is fantastically well preserved.
Vinyl (Ex) As you can see from the pics this copy has only seen light use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of light marks on either side, but nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are very quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity and very little interference. The only noticeable deviation to this was 'Love in Vain' where there's a few crackles creeping in, but that was all that was vaguely noticeable. The actual audio quality is top notch. From the shouts in the crowd to the high pitch wailing of the P.A. system - perfect reproduction! The early copies definitely were the best!
Cover (Ex+) The full lamination has helped to preserve this cover in excellent condition. There's very little ageing at all, difficult to imagine finding a much better example than this. Laminate lift is only very light at the spine's edge and the spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover has maintained excellent rigidity and retains an almost new feel to it. Awesome!
Inner (VG+)  A few creases and some light ageing, but no splits.

Any purchase is guaranteed to get to you quickly, safely, and with total satisfaction, or your money back.
