Description
ROLLING STONES - 'No.2'
This superb UK 1st pressing dates from initial January 1965 release on the deep-groove Decca label: LK.4661
Matrix numbers: XARL-6619-1A & XARL-6620-1A
Stamper codes: 1/HG & 2B/HI
Vinyl weight: 152g
Housed in a front laminated cover 'Printed in England', which has the 'censored' pasted-over rear panel.
This paste-over occurred because the original text caused offense, chiefly to the blind. The original back cover included this passage:
"If you don’t have the bread, see that blind man knock him on the head, steel his wallet and low and behold you have loot, if you put in the boot, good, another one sold!"
Decca was forced to change the text, omitting that section and, not wanting to waste already printed covered, pasted a revised slick over the top of the original - as can be seen above. The offensive text was removed permanently from later editions.

Labels: NEAR MINT
An immaculate pair with just a single spindle trail around each unworn centre hole.
Visual: NEAR MINT
Factory-fresh deep-gloss playing surfaces which appear 100% 'as new' in strong daylight, with just a few very difficult to see paper hairlines and a sparkling rainbow shine directly beneath my unforgiving halogen desk lamp. No need to upgrade this one.
Sound Quality: NEAR MINT
An exceptional sounding copy which play flawlessly. My playcheck found no evidence of any groove/playwear or any clicks, pops or other such distractions. Apart from a touch of regular low-level vinyl background between tracks, it cannot be faulted.
Cover: EXCELLENT
A very respectable example of this rare cover variation.
The unscratched glossy front panel laminate bears two small 'thumbnail' wrinkles and a small section of laminate lift along the lower part of the spine, but little else to show for its 49 years.
There is a touch of wear to the corner tips but and a couple of small 'pushes ' to the rear opening edge, but no tears or feathering.
The exposed rear panel itself clean, white & unblemished.
Both seams and the spine are all unstressed, unsplit and unworn.
Inner-sleeve: EXCELLENT
