Description

An original 1st issue of SF on the UK Rolling Stone label. Matrix A4/B4. Etching 'Rolling Stone Records'. The labels mention 'recording 1st pub' - as you find only on 1st issues. The vinyl comes housed in an original cover with gimmick zip and pinched spine - all indicative of 1st issue. The zip is fully operational. Also included is the promo credit sheet and an original generic inner from the time. So, 100% complete and 100% genuine.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In lovely condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection I could only make out a couple of light marks per side, and a couple of very superficial trails...absolutely nothing troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are really nice and quiet and the audio comes across with tremendous clarity. These early UK pressings really do a fantastic job of the audio - they just can't be beaten. This example delivers the energy required for the upbeat numbers and a really quiet background which helps render the low-key tracks in superb fashion. Even the super low-key tracks like 'Morphine' and 'Wild Horses' play really nice and clean. We detected a few errant crackles in a couple of isolated moments per side - but, in reality, precious little for this very testing title. There's very little to find fault with. It would be difficult even equalling this offering in my opinion.
Cover (Ex) Often a tricky cover to find in top condition for a number of reasons. They very often suffer from ageing at the edges and the zip is commonly found corroded. But this example is a significant cut above the rest. There's barely any ageing apparent back and front - which is unusual. Please note there's a sticker in the top right - I would not recommend trying to remove it..but it doesn't detract much in my humble opinion. A couple of slight creases up at the belt - but the tab is still intact and in very good condition. Edge wear is extremely slight for this title with sharp openings still at the top. There's a couple of minor scuffs on the rear - given the image is of jeans which are a bit roughed and scuffed it doesn't detract at all from the overall image. The spine is 100% intact with all text perfectly legible - this is seriously hard to find. And overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. Quite frankly a stunningly well preserved original specimen.

Inner (Ex) Lightest ageing. No splits or markings.
