this is a 2-for-1 lot of VERY rare smiths promotional display items.
first up is a gorgeous promo hard/stiff cardboard display advertising the "strangeways" album on rough trade from 1987. a recent ebay auction (ended last week) claimed there were just 10 of these made- i was told that too BUT with one exception which was that it wasn't just hmv in manchester that had them, but hmv in oxford st london too. it measures 26" x 30" and is in excellent condition, it would look stunning framed! it features a morrissey designed, photoshop adapted roadsign used on the back sleeve of the album. it has very small pinholes in each corner. incredible item seldom seen- the guy last week had the only other one i've ever seen! excellent condition...
second in this 2 part auction is a similar -although thinner- promo display for "rank" featuring the great alexandra bastedo in gorgeous silver and black/greyscale on white. again, this would look amazing framed. this one is smaller, it measures 24" x 24" and again, is in excellent condition...
for about the first time ever on ebay, i'm going to have to limit this to uk buyers only. even then, ideally, i'd like this to be a "please collect" job, but at a push i can post, it's just that i envisage the post office MIGHT get stroppy about their size! should be ok though... but picking up in person'd be best ideally! if that's not possible then postal charges will be extra. if we call it £6 then i'll meet any diffference.
