The Smiths “Brixton Academy, Friday 20/10/86” (1986) unreleased live vinyl LP
This is a rare live double album featuring a concert of The Smiths recorded at the Brixton Academy Theatre in London. The concert actually took place on October 24th 1986, not October 20th as erroneously stated on the sleeve, although the labels have the correct date. All songs from the gig are featured, with the exception of Cemetry Gates. The cover features a still of James Dean from the 1956 film Giant, with 'The Smiths' rendered in gold lettering using the same typeface as the official Strangeways, Here We Come album. This concert is made memorable by the surprise inclusion of guest drummer Fred Hood from 'The Impossible Dreamers' on two tracks towards the end of the gig. Johnny Marr produced their 1985 single "August Avenue".
This is an original pressing, highly sought-after and difficult to find collectible for serious fans and completists of The Smiths and Morrissey. See full tracklist and other details below.
