Description
The Smiths “Live in the U.S.A.” vintage vinyl double LP
This is a rare live double album featuring a concert of The Smiths recorded at the Great Woods Center for the Performing Arts in Mansfield, Massachusetts on August 5th, 1986. The show marked the first US date of their 1986 "Queen is Dead" tour, and is captured here in it's entirety.
Having opened its doors only a few months prior in May 1986, The Smiths were one of the first "alternative" or "college rock" acts to headline the massive outdoor amphitheater (total capacity 19,900), demonstrating their skyrocketing popularity in the U.S. despite a lack of mainstream radio play.
The cover features an early close-up shot of Morrissey taken by French photographer Joëlle Dépont circa 1985, while the back cover features various badly photo-copied pics of the band backstage and live in concert.
This is an original pressing, highly sought-after and difficult to find collectible for serious fans and completists of The Smiths and Morrissey. See full tracklist and other details below.
