Description
The experience of buying records on Ebay is ruined if, when they arrive, you discover that they are either not in the condition stated or have been damaged in the post! For this reason I describe all my items in detail, and only post using strong sturdy packaging in a 'box' mailer with the record outside the sleeve to avoid seam-splitting. They are also from a non-smoking and pet-free home.

Original 'Tokuma' label Japanese pressings such as this have become extremely desirable in recent times, possibly due to a combination of their being pressed on high-quality heavyweight vinyl, with lavish packaging, and being issued in limited numbers; the sound quality is also renowed for being exceptional. This auction is for a very rare and collectable 1985 Japanese pressing of 'The Boy With The Thorn In His Side' on 12" vinyl. This record was listed, at Number 48, in the 2005 Record Collector 'Smiths Top 100 Rarities' article. This copy is extemely rare in that not only has it survived in outstanding condition (see below), but it is complete with both its original OBI strip and rare printed red Japanese lyrics insert. This is a record which very rarely appears on the market and which is likely to further accumulate in value as time goes by.The vinyl and labels are in superb mint condition, having clearly been barely played and exceptionally well looked after; there are no visible surface marks on the highly-glossy vinyl, which is as-new in appearance. The rare Japanese lyric paper insert is also in mint condition, with no marks or creases anywhere. The outer sleeve is in outstanding near mint condition, with no marks, creasing or seam splits and having strong sharp edges with not even any 'corner wear' on this superb sleeve; there is just the smallest of 'bumps' in one corner. The OBI strip is also unusually in near mint condition, with no marks, creases or tears at all. Please see the accompanying photos for more detail; note that the 'Ebay ID' lettering is just on the pictures and not on the item itself.
