Description
Rare UK Pressing RTT156 The Smiths 12” Vinyl Single -
Heaven Knows I Am Miserable Now
This rare copy has no definite version details on a popular vinyl database website.
It seems to have elements of the standard UK 12” release, the mislabelled reportedly extended version which was very quickly withdrawn and the German 12” release.
The majority of releases are credited as being recorded at Matrix Studios in Feb’84. This however credits recording taking place at Island & Powerplanr Studios in March’84 as is the German version.
The matrix runouts for side A match the standard U.K. release (etched RTT 156. A-2 and the words SMITHS PRESUMABLY) with a stamp of the number 3 and a small capital D with a dot above it.
The B side has the withdrawn etched version reading RTT 156 . B . 1 and the words FOREVER ILL along with the Ty and additionally has a stamped number 2
The sleeve is VG condition with virtually no creasing or scuffs. There is however a small blemish on the front just above the h in Smiths what appears to be a small hole or tiny piece of the cover printing missing showing the cardboard beneath. There is also an indentation at the very top of the back cover where the Grey and yellow meet - looks a bit like a mark an empty ballpoint pen may leave - no ink or difference in colour though
The inner sleeve is a generic paper inner sleeve and is pretty much NM with minimal areas showing a disc outline
The media shows some signs of wear and minor evidence to the spindle hole that it’s been on a record player. Nothing that would effect the playback quality.
