Description

An original TRACK UK press from 1973 - just 2 years from 1st release. Matrix 4/4. Etching "Bilbo". The vinyl comes housed in a MacNeill [same as1st issue design] cover marketed by Polydor. If the audio is of particular importance to you - read on! Also included is an original 'plastic bag warning' inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) In beautiful condition and has only seen very light use. Under close inspection I'm struggling to make out more than a couple of superficial marks - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback. A beautifully clean player which, in reality, is not that far from those original masters. And you can hear it in the audio! If you like your Lps to play real clean then do seriously consider this one. The ARP Synthesizer notes at the start of 'Baba' is difficult to find playing clean on nearly all copies, as are the piano notes that kick off 'Getting In Tune' - but this example delivers them clean. I could detect precious little background at all - all the way through - perhaps just a couple of minor static crackles in the intro to 'Song Is Over'. But even this track plays way way better than what is typically offered to market. This example delivers superb power and authority - it sure is a sweet player!
Cover (Ex) A total pain to find the original copies in great condition due to the absence of lamination. But this early example is looking very tidy indeed. Beautifully clean and flat front without wear or ageing. The back is the usual area which lets the side down...but, again, this example is very well preserved. Only very slightest handling observable on the rear - way better than what you typically find. There's literally no edge wear observable and the openings are still sharp. The spine is 100% intact - pretty much perfect [a very hard find indeed]. Sweet!
Inner (Vg+) Light ageing, but no splits.
