Description

An original 1st press of Who's Next on the UK Track label. Matrix A2/B1 - 1st cut. Etching "MG12888". Please note the labels are flat and matt...NOT shiny or ridged...these are the 1st copies! the heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original 1st issue MacNeill cover with pinched spine. There's also a plastic bag warning inner.
Vinyl (Ex-/Vg+) In great shape and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of light marks per side, and one superficial trail - nothing heavy or troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly NEAREXCELLENT level of playback with minor deviation in a couple of brief spots per side. Intros and inbetweens are very nice and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. Well worth plumbing for the earlier copies - they were pressed heavier and sound much better. A pretty clean player by and large. All I could detect was a few crackles in one spot per side [e.g. opening to Getting In Tune]. G.I.T also exhibited a couple of ticks early on too. Nothing persistent. Nothing unpalatable. This is a great little player with bags of energy.
Cover (Vg+) Difficult to find this one in top level condition - but this example is looking well preserved. Nice clean and flat front with just small elliptical cutaway bottom left. I have repaired internally and blended in as best I can. The rear is looking much tidier than you typically tend to find - just a bit of light handling. A bit of edge wear in places, but nothing epic. The spine is 90% intact with just a couple of minor stress creases. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Ex-) Bag present. Light ageing. No splits.
