Description
This is an original 1952 mono pressing of the album "Genius of Modern Music vol. 2" by Thelonious Monk. The label design is consistent with the era and states the address as 767 Lexington Ave NYC. There is a deep groove on both sides and 9M and the Plastylite P ("ear") are hand etched into the runout. The bottom of the back cover also reads New York 21.
Vinyl grade: VG This is a very strong VG with light marks that are neither audible nor feelable. The record plays very well with light background noise. There are spindle marks on the labels, but see the pictures. They are still rather nice.
Sleeve grade: VG The sleeve is totally intact on all sides and has very little wear on the front cover. There is some discoloration, mostly on the back. Somebody put an unobtrusive, hand-typed label on the spine. There is also some small pencil writing in the upper right corner of the back cover. There is some modest edge wear but no splits.
