Description

This has got to be one of the rarest Motown artefacts to emerge from the UK.  What we have here is a 10" acetate, one sided, which plays at 78rpm.  It contains Earl Van Dyke's classic instrumental "All For You" and is on the Rediffusion label.  This piece of music was used extensively on the Rediffusion TV show Ready Steady Go's Motown Special in 1965 and it was originally obtained from someone who worked on that program over 20 years ago.  The condition is not great; it does play, and it's not scratched, but it does have a film of dirt or mould over it which I have been reluctant to attempt to remove in case I damage the lacquer on the acetate.  This of course makes surface noise on every rotation.  I would suggest though that this is the sort of item that would look great framed anyway and is not really a player.  If you have any more questions I would be happy to answer them to the best of my knowledge.  I think this is a really historic record, having featured heavily in what was many people's first introductions to the Motown sound in the UK.
