Another from my personal collection of over 50,00 Uk albums that I have collected over a period of 45 years or more!.WOW! What a great sounding copy! This is an early original UK pressing of Demons and Wizards by Uriah Heep released in 1972 on the Bronze labels in the UK. Visually the vinyl looks superb with just light paper removal scuffs but no deep scratches or marks. No needle scratches or marks that would cause any loud constant clicks or pops, however isolated static type clicks were noted at the beginning of the 1st track on side one.. Please listen to the recording in the player below. I would grade the audio at Least excellent to excellent plus for the most part in my opinion. I heard isolated static ticks or pops only. Importantly no distortion or signs that this record has been overplayed.. No real nasty crackle even in quieter places. Very very rare to find like this after 48 years!
This is complete with the original 1st Robor printed, un-laminated gate-fold cover is also in excellent condition. light wear with age only.

The original vinyl release was a gatefold sleeve, the front of which was designed by Roger Dean.
The inner of the gatefold had pictures of the band and notes by Ken Hensley, whilst the LP itself was housed in a liner which had the lyrics printed on it!
The songs "The Wizard" and "Easy Livin'" were released as singles in the United Kingdom and North America, as well as many other markets. "Easy Livin'" entered the US Top 40 at #39, making it Heep's first American hit. "Easy Livin'" was also a mega hit in New Zealand and Germany, countries which were becoming a strong market for the band. It reached a disappointing #75 in Australia!
"Demons and Wizards" has gone Platinum in the USA!.

The Vinyl
On visual inspection this looks superb, this has been played but not over played in my opinion. This is the earliest and original thick and heavier type of vinyl only found like this on the earliest pressings. Any marks that could possibly be seen angled to the light would be sleeve removal type/paper scuffs only, at least nothing deep or feelable that would cause any major loud constant clicks or pops. The vinyl lays perfectly flat on the turntable and is free of any warping. Importantly, there are no visual marks that would cause any loud nasty constant clicks/ticks or pops during the play of this vinyl.
The Audio Quality
I have play tested the vinyl two times on two different turntables/systems at very loud volume prior to this listing. Once for you to hear the complete album. (Can be heard in the player above)
The moment that the needle hits the playing surface it is obvious to me that this has not been overplayed. WOW absolutely stunning audio! Crystal clear and vibrant stunning top audio throughout the play of this vinyl. It is noted that I heard static ticks or pops at the beginning of the 1st track to mention any other interferance may be heard in isolated places only but nothing that detracted from the overall exceptional sound too much in my personal opinion. I would grade the audio at least excellent to excellent plus for the most part in my opinion! Very Very Vibrant! A superbe playable copy!
Please note! Allowances must be made for these early pressings. They are notorious for static ticks/pops/crackle in some or quieter places. I always add this disclaimer! Please allow for very light isolated static type crackle/ticks/pops that might be noticed in quieter places, but not consistent through out the audio. Debrit was noted on the playing surface after play. A constant clean before each play is recommended because this vinyl has been stored in a case laying dormant for over 40 years. A build up of dirt and dust in the grooves causes static ticks/ crackle. constant cleaning before each play will reduce this and enhance the audio quality.
The Labels
These are the original UK issue Bronze labels. Spider marks can be seen angled to the light, this has obviously been played but not overplayed in my opinion. There is little if no spindle wear the hole is perfectly round.
The Record Sleeve
This is the original plain white record sleeve. This is straight and generally clean with light creasing only. The vinyl is now always stored separately from the sleeve and cover. This is how I have always stored my records.
The Cover
This is the original 1st UK issueRobor Printed un-laminated gate-fold cover. No real nasty creases to report, any creases or rubbing are light. All text at the spine is readable and the spine is square. It is noted that the vinyl is now always stored separately from the cover. Rich and very vibrant colours. I would grade this cover at excellent in my opinion.
