A wonderfully weird record from Italian soundtrack maestro Piero Umiliani – one of his rare Electronic albums cut for the sound Library scene, and one of his best as well! The style here isn't just Electronic for Electronic music's sake – but instead really tries to find these warmer, melodic tones from early analogue versions of the instruments – often with cool little melodies that are very playful, but surprisingly sweet at times too – almost as if Umiliani is trying to find a whole new language based on Electronics, but one that can resonate with his previous work with bigger ensembles. Many tunes are quite spare, but beautifully focused – in a way that almost points forwards to the Sky Records scene to come in Germany. Titles include "Synthi Epico", "Synthi Theme", "Synthi Bossa Nova", "Synthi West", "Synthi Boogie", "Synthi Dance", "Synthetic Water", and "Arabian Synthesizer".
