Description

Verve V-5008 The Velvet Underground & Nico, produced by Andy Warhol. Original mono pressing with blue Verve label. 'Version 2' gatefold jacket with PEEL SLOWLY AND SEE text on front and black sticker over photo on rear. Vinyl (East Coast pressing) is in Good 7.5/10 condition with light scuffs and scratches; auditioned, plays well, with punchy mono sound and moderate background noise. Jacket is in Fair 6.5/10 condition, with considerable soiling and ringwear on front and rear (see images), wear along the edges, bumped corners, and split seams top and bottom; spine is intact and legible, except for the final digit in the record number at the bottom. Unpeeled banana sticker on front has a visible split near the top, repaired with a 1" piece of clear tape (see image), and 2 or 3 minor tears. Original Verve paper sleeve. All in all, this is a complete, if somewhat worn, example of this rare album. A nice shelf filler until you can find a perfect copy! Reserve price reflects rarity and condition.
