Description

ORIGINAL COPY "VELVET UNDERGROUND & NICO" WITH PEELABLE BANANA.

Here we have an original copy of the Andy Warhol produced album by the Velvet Underground and Nico from 1967. Way ahead of it's time this is one of the most influential albums ever and is very collectible in this form.

It is the Verve/M.G.M. version in stereo with the hard cardboard gatefold sleeve which is in great condition for 40 years old. It still has the stickered banana on the front which someone has started to unpeel in bygone days (it might have even happened whilst in a record case), but most of it is still there with a little gap showing. All pretty clean too, considering it's a white sleeve, with a small amount of finger grubbiness, which hardly shows. The spine is still as solid as a rock and shows all the information very clearly. This is, of course the U.S. sleeve printed Verve with "V6-5008" on the spine and Polydor label on the back numbered 2315 056. This proves it to be an original. No markings or writing on the sleeve, either.

Labels are both NM with no markings or writing.

Vinyl is bright and shiny and looks NM but plays an overall EX. Track 1 on both sides have a little light background noise and 4 light clicks between them, but, on the whole has a superb sound with no distortion and and lots of clarity.

A must for the collector.

Many thanks for looking and Merry Christmas.
