Description
The VELVET UNDERGROUND and NICO - original Mono LP . . . . . . This cool vintage vinyl LP is the original Mono pressing, Verve V-5008. The first VU album, this is the first edition (2nd state). It has the classic Andy Warhol-designed gatefold cover, with the "peelable" banana on the front. This one still has the "banana skin" sticker intact and unpeeled! The top of the banana sticker shows a small tear/crease where someone peeled it back a little to look underneath, as most of these do. The back cover has a large sticker with the album title. Comes complete with original Verve inner sleeve.
Cover is in nice shape, VG/VG+ with only light wear, tiny name on inside cover at bottom edge, light ringwear on back cover showing on the black sticker, couple tiny splits but very solid and sharp. Disc is nice VG/VG+ too, VG visually with some very light scuffs/scratches but plays VG+/Exc. with only very minor surface noise, no skips or scratches, tiny name on Side 1 label. Terrific example of this very hard to find VU LP.
