Up for auction is this limited edition 10 inch vinyl 78rpm record of Vince Taylor And His Playboys on the cruising the 50s label (final release of 97) which comes complete with all the flyers etc that were issued with it..... Brand New Cadillac on one side and Right Behind You Baby on the other side....on the front of the sleeve it has limited edition 122 (nothing on the record label)....on the label is 1997 which I assume is the year it was made , I'm not sure how many discs were issued for each 78 but I would imagine that this is a fairly rare disc to find especially with all the paperwork.
One of the inserts is in fluorescent pink and has a Cadillac car on it and advertises the record.
serial number on the label is CASB 006 ...CE 16289 , the other side is CASB 006 ... CE 16192.
Please check out my other auctions as I have 5 different vinyl 78rpm records to list all on the Cruisin the 50s label and all with the same serial number of 122 so whoever bought them when they were first released must have had a regular standing order with the company.....starting from Thursday 19th September I will be listing lots more 78rpm records from the 1950s , a very large collection I inherited a few years ago....lots of elvis , fats domino , gene Vincent , eddie cochran and buddy holly etc
Condition is good and looking at the disc it actually looks as though it hasn't been played , I haven't played it and have only inspected it visually....there are no scratches that I can see anywhere , the B side does have a few marks to it where it looks like one of the flyers has pressed into it so these marks will hopefully clean off but I can't guarantee that point , it doesn't look scratched to me but the marks are there all the same so please take note of this point , it looks as though it will play fine though, the playing surface is a little bit dusty though so you'll have to give it a dust and clean with a proper record cleaning cloth so please take note of this point before you bid , I haven't done it as I didn't want to damage it.
The sleeve is nice and clean on the front and has no scribbles , there are a few faint line marks two it and it looks slightly rubbed but not seriously, the white back does have a few slight dirt marks to it which would probably clean off with a rubber so please also note these point before you bid.
The record has been visually inspected and not played by me and I would say its in good order apart from needing a clean , I wasn't sure how to grade the record as i'm not a record dealer or collector so have described it all as best I can.
Postage is for 2nd class within the uk , as its a vinyl 78rpm it should travel ok , it will be bubble wrapped and then packed between thick cardboard....postage cost is only an estimate so it may cost less to send when I post....if that's the case I always give a refund through paypal on the postage as I always charge the exact amount to post items.
