Description
Vinyl was play tested through Focal Elegia's and it played as NM-. I numerically scored the play a 94 with the A1 playing more like EX and A5 and B3 having want sounded like a missed dust fleck. Visually the A-side is EX and the B is more along the NM- lines. It's wicked nice and sounds wicked nice (and this album turns 40 on January 9. I remember when it came out and I still love it all this time later).
The sleeve is pretty close to NM- visually however is scored EX, more like EX- but 100% better than VG+ with the most driving issue being the most faint degree of 'Japanese Mold' smell, numerically a 1/10 (it can be overwhelming once you get past a point with this, I've had to throw albums out). It's almost not there, I've checked a few times now and I'm about 90% it's something on the insert. Again, it is almost not there at all but it is enough to warrant a mention. (This is what it is with Japanese records sometimes and if you know you know but you really don't want to know). Beyond that, on angles there is super light ring wear, a 2mm impression within the letter A of Van, a small discoloration spot to the right of the right wing, very light corner wear, running in from the spine and typically covered by the OBI are a pair of creases with the longest running 11mm along with a 2mm dimple on the top seam, on the rear a crease near the 1984 running 12mm along with a couple of discoloration spots. The OBI shows light wear as well. Overall, visually a very solid 90.
