- Meritt Record Society
Profile:
Record label, founded in 1979 by Jerry Valburn, focusing on previously unissued recordings of early jazz. The records were available only by mail order to members of the Meritt Record Society. Valburn also had three similar labels, Blu-Disc (2), Up-To-Date Records, and Everybodys, for reissues early jazz (like Meritt these were named after small 1920s labels).
The society also produced the Duke Ellington Treasury Series.
