Description
THE VELVET UNDERGROUND & NICO ~ VERVE RECORDS V-5008 MONO / TORSO
This is the Original Verve Mono East Coast Pressing from 1967, with Eric Emerson's inverted torso over Lou Reed's head, and a peelable banana sticker. Matrix Side 1: V5008 SW MG558 SW1 1C S(stamp) Matrix Side 2: V5008 SIDe2 MG559 (keyhole symbol). What is especially attractive about this album is the condition of the vinyl. It is in outstanding condition and Super Glossy. Side One: Vinyl is a Strong EX, almost NM, with nothing more than a few very light marks that are hard to see. Side Two: Vinyl is the same EX condition as side one Except that there is a easily visible scratch mark on the last 2 cuts only, clearly seen at photo 1. Consequently, this side grades VG+ for a total grade of EX- for the disc. I have test-played this disc a few times, and it sounds great. Even where the mark is on side 2, there are No pops, clicks or skips. Additionally, there is almost NO surface noise on either side. As you can see, both blue Verve paper labels are in superb condition. Onto the jacket: There is light soiling, edge and corner wear as seen, and a punched hole lower right. Top right corner has a 4" split. The Banana sticker is 100% there, but has a break near the top and some small wrinkling a little further down. Inside the gatefold, the photos are clean and bright. No writing or stains.
To summarize, this a great sounding and good looking glossy disc with a better than average jacket. See my feedback and buy with confidence. Buyer to pay $4 Expedited shipping USA, overseas use eBay global shipping. Contact me for any questions or additional information.
