Description

Without much doubt, the Haydn Quartet was tops in their field at the

start of the 20th Century. The prolific tenor Harry McDonough was

usually lead singer, John Bieling high tenor, S.H. Dudley baritone,

with William F. Hooley singing bass.

They could take the simplist songs and turn them into gems, such as

on this record called "A Sleighride Party" in which they do great

renditions of Jingle Bells and Good Night Ladies.

This announced, flush label Victor Monarch 658 was recorded on

February 7, 1901. It is in E- to V+ condition with some very light

surface scratches.
