Description

Born in 1894, Fess Williams played several instruments, most notably the clarinet, and made a name for himself with appearances at Harlem's Savoy Ballroom for most of his career.  He recorded for several labels from about 1925 to 1930 as Fess Williams and his Royal Flush Orchestra. His last sessions were for Victor including the red hot "Friction," done April 22, 1929, and the more sedate "Here 'Tis," done a few days before on April 17.    Wear and scratches on "Here Tis", 2 wide scratches on "Friction" that do not sound on my ancient equipment but BE FOREWARNED.   Condition V+
