Description

The item for sale is very rare and highly desirable for the signatures. This was a 10" high fidelity LP from Capital Records and it has the Capital #H439. Likely from early 1950's. The title of the album is "Gerry Mulligan and His Ten-Tette" (not quartet, not quintet, not sextet but 10 musicians in the group!). Song titles are on the front of the album cover and can be seen in photo 1. Terrific jazz lineup includes Gerry Mulligan on baritone sax; Chet Baker on trumpet; Pete Candoli on trumpet; Bud Shank on alto sax; Chico Hamilton on drums; and Henry Mancini (who signed the cover but is not credited in the linear notes). Those musicians all signed the album. Others in the "Ten-tette" included John Grass on french horn; Don Davidson on baritone sax; Bob Enevolden on trombone; Ray Siegel on tuba; and Joe Mondragon on bass. Collectors know that Chet Baker's autograph is hard to find. The parties this ensemble must have had....This is another selection from my extensive collection of autographed record albums that I am now selling off before the grandkids use them for target practice.
