Description
For auction is the WALTER BISHOP JR TRIO, "Speak Low" on JAZZTIME, JT-002 MONO, 1961. The vinyl is VG+. The record has "deep grooves" on both sides. It has a couple noticeable light surface scratches on side A that do not affect play. On side B, there are some scuffs on the lead-in area (the outer edge) of the record that do not affect play. It has been machine-cleaned and I listened to both sides complete. The sound is very nice, very clean. The only audio imperfections are about 4 successive "tics," not loud, at the very end of cut 1, Side A ("Sometimes I'm Happy"). Then, on Side A, cut 3 ("Green Dolphin Street"), there are a few light crackles here and there, not consistently throughout, with one, single soft "pop" towards the very end. The Side B audio is clean, nothing to report! I WANT TO ERR ON THE SIDE OF CAUTION HERE, since this is a valuable record!
The sleeve is VG+ (probably better) with no flaws of note. It's clean, with solid seams and corners all around. It does have "NR" stamped on lower left corner of the reverse. The photos are of the exact record up for bids. Look before you bid, ask if you want any additional info or pics. A rare record, in great condition. No reserve, bidding starts at $150.
Every record I auction has been cleaned on a Nitty Gritty vacuum/cleaner. I played every record to determine if there are static, tics, pops, hisses, what have you. I endeavor to thoroughly report any extraneous audio "noise" or problems of any significance. Other than that, I will report on the general condition of each record, both vinyl and jacket, according to Goldmine standards, to the best of my ability.
Every record is put into a new, clean sleeve insert. In the case of an interesting original sleeve insert, I'll include that in the sale.
If you're into this stuff, you might want to save me to your seller's list and check back periodically. I'll be putting a lot of vintage jazz records up for auction. I'm not a collector, nor an audiophile, but I think they are desirable if you're into this kind of material. Click "see other items" and thanks for looking!
