Description
HERE'S one of the prime Territory Band rarities, a VERY hot record: ZACH WHYTE AND HIS CHOCOLATE BEAU BRUMMELS (as "Eddie Walker and his Band") doing their takes on the sinuous "WEST END BLUES" and the stomping "IT'S TIGHT LIKE THAT."
One of only three records issued by this fantastic and accomplished band, these guys played as if they KNEW that, making every second count, in two sides packed with incident. SY OLIVER (trumpet) is a prominent voice, as is AL SEARS (baritone sax) and FLOYD BRADY (trombone).
Zach Whyte's Chocolate Beau Brummels played up and down the midwestern-southwestern states, never getting to Chicago or New York. It's too bad, because they were just sharp as hell, both musically and sartorially, and could have succeeded smartly in those places - and recorded more often! But we're lucky to have even ONE record by them, let alone three!
This original 1929 Supertone 9386 is in overall V+ condition, playing well, with some wear, little distortion. "West End" is a little cleaner than "Tight," say V++.

These records come from my private collection, which I have been accumulating since 1967, and now am downsizing! My highest priority in these eBay auctions is to give you the best possible idea of a record’s true condition and aesthetic value. I always post at least four clear images, showing the record fore and aft, a close-up of the label, and the whole disc, warts and all. If my purple prose won’t cut it, the pictures will! Shipping is done with expert care. Your record will brave Media Mail in a stout corregated box, between four sheets of cardboard and a couple of “packers.” I hope you are amused by these descriptions, and by the quality of service being offered.
