WHY THIS RECORD MATTERS
"Whitesnake" (1987) is the album that broke the band worldwide, riding MTV heavy rotation for "Here I Go Again '87," "Is This Love," "Still of the Night," and "Give Me All Your Love." What makes it historically notable is that the core album was co-written and recorded entirely by David Coverdale and guitarist John Sykes — before a falling-out led Coverdale to overdub new guitar parts with Adrian Vandenberg and Steve Vai for the videos and additional tracks. The John Sykes performances on the original LP are the real musical substance of the record, making this a genuine guitarist's album beneath the gloss.
CONDITION
VINYL: VG+ approaching Excellent — Clean grooves with good sheen. Plays with good clarity. Light signs of age consistent with a nearly 40-year-old record, nothing that detracts from the listening experience.
COVER: VG+ — Displays well. Light wear on edges and corners consistent with age. No splits, no water damage.
Includes original printed inner sleeve.
I grade conservatively using Goldmine standards.
