Description
VICTOR 9297: WILLIAM S. HART, silent film star and one of the first film cowboys, reciting LASCA (Frank Depres) and PINTO BEN (written by Hart). Hart recorded 4 recitations for Victor on October 18, 1928 but only these two were issued, on a twelve-inch Red Seal record. US pressing, Scroll label, dubbed masters*, disc E.
* I know somebody's going to ask what this means, so here it is. According to the Victor discography, some pressings are from dubbed masters (which may mean there are master pressings out there)..this is usually done because of an audio defect, such as a loud passage that would quickly wear out on the phonographs of the day. On Victor recordings, dubs are identified by a small R next to the take number. Don't make me explain take numbers, it's too late in the evening. Just buy the record already. You know you want it.
