Description

An original mono 1st issue of WTB on the UK Parlophone label, but pressed by Decca. Matrix 7N/7N. Please note the labels exhibit the DECCA DEEP GROOVE along with 'Parlophone' in the perimeter and 'recording 1st pub' . This record was pressed by Decca rather than EMI. Why? Because over the Xmas'63 period WTB was selling in such high quantities that EMI could not meet demand! The Decca deep groove is helpful, on this example, as it helps us date the LP to WINTER 1963. This is when DEMAND WAS HIGHEST...and EMI contracted out. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original Mono cover with flipbacks. Also included is the original Emitex inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) Wow, sometimes records just totally knock-you-out. This copy is preserved to a very high level and has only seen the very lightest use. Under close inspection I'm struggling to make anything much at all, perhaps one very superficial trail - nothing remotely or vaguely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Seriously? YES - seriously...I've never seen a better 1963 Beatles LP..probably EVER. Sometimes records can look good on visible inspection, but disappoint on playback. NOT HERE! This copy is absolutely STELLAR! It clearly has seen very very low-mileage and that is incredibly unusual on an LP of this vintage. Interference - NOTHING/NADA/ZIP. I'll do my usual catch-all...you might detect a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments. But this is good as it gets... FINAL UPGRADE.
Cover (Ex/Ex+) And as if the vinyl wasn't good enough...lets check out the cover. Absolutely super front cover with lovely sheen and lies flat. All I can make out are a couple of thumbnail creases. The Rear? - CHECK IT OUT!! It is totally unaged... I don't think I've ever seen that. One thing to note..in that top right corner - one tiny sticker residue spot..MINOR! All flipbacks are perfectly intact and secure - like nothing I've ever seen. Edge wear NON-EXISTENT. Spine? PERFECT 100% Corners - POINTED. Overall rigidity PERFECT. FINAL UPGRADE.
Inner (Ex) Very little ageing. No splits. No markings.
