Description
16-inch National War Fund 1945 Campaign, vinyl record with recordings on side 1 of a skit by Bob Hope and Jerry Colonna, a talk by Admiral Chester W. Nimitz as well as Secretary of the Treasury Thomas Kennedy. Side 2 features a talk by Jack Benny, a talk by Philip Murray president of the CIO and music and a talk by Larry Adler. Turntables to accommodate them were not publicly available though Newcomb built a transcription player for commercial use. Many were made to promote government programs or provide military information or recruitment. In addition to military use, these huge discs were widely used for radio station commercials. Shows wear and scratches but none appear deep enough to prevent play. However, I don't have the special player which would play records of this size so cannot test. Both labels in legible shape. Please review the photos as they are part of the description and show the actual item you will receive.
