St. Ives (ives1)

Phil released 'Blood' to show that "The Microphones is a big wide thing, not just a guy and his songs". It has very early versions of songs that would later appear on the Glow Pt. 2, musical collages, impromtu singing, extracts from songs, field recordings, Mirah tracks, alternate versions and a Bjork cover among many other delightful things. The liner notes are very thorough in giving the provenance of the songs and players, and why they were made, and these also serve as track names.

Hi.  I have this record for sale.  The description at the right is taken from the Mt. Eerie preservation society to save me work.  I can describe this particular copy as being in really good shape overall.  No scratces or anything.  The needle moves up and down ever so slightly as the record plays, so I guess the record's ever so slightly warped.  Sounds great. The sleeve is as it always was.  The sides are cut up, but they're supposed to be (reused record sleeves).  The artwork on this is something of a mound I beleive.  Perhaps heap of earth turning into the sea.  The problem is that I have no liner notes.  I don't know why.  I feel certain I had them at one time.  In fact I was the person who actually photocopied the inserts during my summer stint as an intern at Secretly Canadian.  Well, I have liner notes that are also borrowed (stolen?) from the Mt. Eerie prestervation society so you can follow along, but its not the same.   Damn...  Well, this is an amazing and rare (!!!) record which you undoubtedly are awareof already.  I'm only selling because I'm poorer than poor.
